The housing market in the Netherlands does not offer many options to (international) students. We discovered during interviews that the most popular platforms for matching housemates for student housing is unsophisticated, generally relying on lottery-style (random) matching.

The solution

LooKasa is a platform that helps people find compatible housemates by matching individuals based on their habits, hobbies, and desired level of social interaction. The company plans to attract users and their data by adding the LooKasa website to university lists of housing resources. See it here: https://lookasa.online The website will allow users to register to the database. Upon a registered user's application to a partnered housing agency, the proposed matching system will be used to select the ideal candidate.
